Good News to PECE and ECT Applicant

There will be an interview and processing of applications for Professional Electronics Engineer (PECE) and Electronics Technician (ECT), to be conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission’s (PRC’s) Board of Electronics Examiner on September 19, 2008 from 8:00AM to 5:00PM in Computer and Communications Laboratory Room, Pedro E. Torres Bldg., University of Mindanao – Matina Campus, Matina, Davao City, Philippines.

All applicants must have to bring all the necessary documents for the said professional upgrading.

Problems of Nurses would like to Work Abroad!

Recently, I talked with the consultancy firm regarding a possible nursing jobs in New Zealand, and Australia. They said that these countries are now requiring the applicants to submit lots of documents regarding their nursing course if the school being attended by the applicants were not accredited yet by their Nursing Council. They are encouraging also those upcoming nursing students to take a nursing course with the recognition from those countries being mentioned above otherwise the applicants may go through lots of paper works and requirement for their validity.

In our country today, there are lots of schools that are offering nursing courses without following the normal procedures in administering the course. I have learned that there are two prominent universities in Davao City, Philippines, that they do not own a hospital as their permanent based hospital.  I heard from their students that they even claimed that Davao Medical Center (DMC) and Davao Regional Hospital (DRH) as their permanent based hospital but sad to say DMC and DRH are owned by the Republic of the Philippines. They are a government hospital and not owned by a private schools. Most of them (I am referring to schools) that they liked shortcuts and did the easiest ways. Most of the nursing schools in our country specifically in Davao City, Philippines did not care about affiliations and accreditation to international agencies in order for them to be recognized

If you like to be a nurse then choose the recognized (both local and abroad) nursing schools. After all, if you like to work abroad then you do not have problems of fulfilling lots of documents. There is one and only nursing school in Davao City was being recognized by New Zealand. It is the San Pedro College (SPC). The SPC is currently operated by nuns, a Dominican Sisters. SPC has its owned ISO accredited hospital. Their nursing school is not so expensive compared with the other school, like the one being operated by the priest. Luckily, my wife (a nurse) was a product of SPC and she enjoyed the privileges acquired by the school.

A piece of information from the consultants that they do not care about where the applicants came from or from a school being highly recognized by Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) as TOP 10 performing nursing schools in the Philippines in terms of Board Examination results, as long as they are qualified and recognized by the New Zealand and Australia in their respective Nursing Councils.
